Know when a DNS record changes or stops resolving

A wrong or missing record breaks email, sign-in and websites at the same time. A DNS monitor resolves one record type for a name and can compare the answer with the value you expect.

Set it up

Check that mail still goes to the right server:

What StatusTick checks

Record types: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS and SOA.
An optional expected value; a different answer counts as down.
The domain’s registration expiry is checked too.

When it fails

The alert names the monitor and says the answer did not match or the name did not resolve.

Checks run from several regions and a failure is confirmed before anyone is alerted. Alerts go to email, Slack, Teams, Discord, Telegram, PagerDuty or a webhook.
